Background jobs

Reminders that go out on time. Every time.

Your app can do things later and on a schedule: booking reminders, morning summaries, follow-ups, syncs. It tries again when something fails, and shows you every run in plain words. Included in your plan, no credits.

What it does

Four simple things, done for you.

Developers call these queues, cron and dead-letter replay. You don't have to.

Do it later

Send a reminder 24 hours before a booking. Follow up two days after a visit. Your site remembers and does it on time.

reminders.send(data, { at })

Do it on a schedule

Every morning at 7, email the day's bookings. Every Monday, send a report. In your time zone, in plain words.

jobs.schedule("daily", { every: "day", at: "07:00" })

Try again by itself

If the text service is down, it waits and tries again, up to five times. You never pay for the extra tries.

retries: 5, back-off 30s → 1h

Run it again in one click

Anything that still didn't work waits for you, with the reason in plain words. Fix it, then run it again.

From one sentence to reminders that just work.

  1. 01

    Tell your AI

“Text each customer a reminder 24 hours before their booking, and cancel it if they cancel.”
  2. 02

    It writes the job

Your AI uses EzyStudio's jobs built into your app. No outside service, no keys to copy, nothing to set up.

    reminders.send(booking, {
      at: booking.start.minus({ hours: 24 }),
      key: `remind-${booking.id}`,
    });
  3. 03

    You watch it work

The Jobs tab shows what's coming up, what went out and anything that needs you. Pause, resume or run again.

Pricing

Already in your plan. Not a new bill.

App, Business and agency plans include background jobs. Retries are never counted. One published rate if you go past: $1.20 per 100,000 runs, on Business and agency plans only.

Website plan sites are static pages with no server code, so there is nothing to run in the background. Jobs start on App.

One run is one job done, like one reminder sent, with all its tries included. However long a job takes, it is one run. Each run can take up to 60 seconds.

Prices in USD a month, billed monthly. Yearly and lifetime prices are on the pricing page. See all plans

AI builders make the screens fast. Reminders and schedules usually mean an outside service, another account and another bill.

Questions

Good to know.

What counts as a run?
One job your site does: one reminder, one booking synced, one morning email. Retries are free, and however long a job takes, it counts once. Each run can take up to 60 seconds; bigger work is split into several jobs.
What happens if I use more than my plan includes?
On App, nothing is ever charged. You get 10% extra, then new jobs wait in line until the month starts again or you upgrade. Nothing is lost. On Business and agency plans, jobs keep running and extra runs cost $1.20 per 100,000, billed at the end of the month.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You tell your AI what should happen and when, and it writes the job. You see everything in plain words on the Jobs tab. Developers can switch on technical names to see queues, cron lines and the data each job got.
What if a reminder doesn't go out?
It tries again by itself, waiting a little longer each time: 1 minute, 2 minutes, 10 minutes, then an hour. If it still doesn't work, it waits under Didn't work with the reason, and you get a notification. Run it again in one click.
Will times be right where I live?
Yes. Every schedule has a time zone, and summer time is handled for you. Every day at 7:00 stays 7:00 all year.
How does it work for agencies?
Runs are shared across all your clients, so a quiet client leaves room for a busy one. You see each client's use, and in SaaS mode you can set your own price for extra runs.
